Crafted from reclaimed wood, these painter’s stools are inspired by classic 18th-century Provençal design. Originally built by the painters who used them, the stools include small platforms that held their tools and materials — a classic feature we’ve preserved in our contemporary design.
These painters' stools are constructed using traditional French carpentry techniques, including authentic mortise and tenon joints, ensuring both durability and old-world charm. We built them with naturally sun-weathered wood, so that they beautifully echo the timeworn character of their original predecessors.
Disclaimer: Each Carol Hicks Bolton piece is handcrafted from reclaimed and natural materials, reflected in its unique patina, character and wear.
