French Workman’s Stool

One of Neighbour Moderne’s most exciting finds, these 19th century French stools carry almost two hundred years of history. While constructed by French laborers out of old chopping boards, logs, or whatever material they could find, most of these stools owe their enduring function and strength to carefully crafted mortise and tenon style joints.

Originally carried to work in the morning for meals or rest times, these stools can be either functional or ornamental. Each one is unique, and your stool will come with a history all its own.
